Reusing primers??

I have a quick question for you guys. Can you or I should say, "Should" you, reuse primers you have punched out of cases you have already primed?? I used to do it all the time and never gave it a thought. But in the last year or so I have noticed that now I am seeing primers with the anvil falling out with the "Primer paste". Up until this year I have never seen this happen. So now I am wondering if I should NOT reuse them... Thanks guys!!!

Which brings up the next question: How long will you spend looking for a dropped primer?
One minute?
5?
10?
Josh
Is the time and material invested worth reloading primers.
I noticed scheels yesterday had Winchester primers for $ 69.99 per 1000.

Not a great price like yesteryear, but if you can pick them up at the store, & save shipping & the hazmat, is it worth the time spent plus material.

I started using Fed 205 AR match primers for my AR 20p hunting loads. I see a greenish film on some after seating. Checked/cleaned my Lee auto prime, nothing on it. Is there a sealer on these primers, or primer compound that spilled over before the anvil was inserted?

With the price, me too.

I use a throw rug under my work area to catch amy primers I drop. I have found out the hard way about dropping one on a hardwood floor and having it bounce into the next county.
Absolutely found out long ago a rug of some sort can be a life-saver when dropping small objects at the reloading bench. Primers do tend to roll into eternity.

Why are you taking apart large numbers primed cases in the first place. I have been reloading for 50 years and cannot remember ever depriming an unfired case.

Lol a lot because my wife definitely doesn't enjoy them and the vacuum cleaner... Makes a bit of a noise.... Ask me how pissed she gets when you vacuum up a quarter bag of #8 shot outa the carpet... ROFL LITERALLY because when you pick up the vacuum when it's off they will fall out for awhile but when it's running it will pepper your shins really good... One day I did this while wearing shorts and was doing the ouchy dance in the living room while some naughty words were being said...

I use the primer as long as it wasn't damaged badly when depriming especially in something like .223 for ARs... Never had a decent looking one not go off... I even reuse the ones I push out in shotgun which normally dents the cover or lacquer... Never had one not go off but maybe from now on I can blame my misses on them...

WOW! I don't make it a standard practice, but it happens.

Just this week, I deprimed 100 rounds of new brass I am selling. Buyer uses a different primer, and now I can ship them via USPS instead of UPS ground.

A few years ago I had a Winchester LRP fail at the rolled edge. Winchester bought back all I had, and paid to have my bolt face repaired. Knocked out all the Winchester primers that were in brass

And many other reasons.

I only had around 50 cases that I had to resize. The die has the de priming pin attached to the neck sizing ball as a one piece unit.
