Retumbo Powder

A friend of mine was moving and selling his reloading stuff. Bought a pound of Retumbo with the intent of trying it in my .300 H & H. None of my loading manuals have info, may be too old. Looked on the Hodgdon site and it is not listed for that cartridge. Anyone use it ?

I use Retumbo in my 264 Win mag with 130 Accubonds and it screams and is very accurate. I could not find any data for it in any of my resources for the 300 H&H. Looking at 300 Win mag data they don't even list it until bullet weight gets to 200grs. All the other larger capacity cases max loads with Retumbo are compressed loads. I would guess that you will need at least 200 grs of bullet and you probably can't get enough Retumbo into a case to be over pressure. It probably is too slow burning for the H&H. Looks like the 4350s or 4831s are the best for this case capacity from all my data.
