Reticle holdover ?

With an MOA reticle, I need 7.5 minutes holdover to hit center at 500 meters. Will using the 7 moa hash mark on the reticle and the turret set at 1/2 moa give me same holdover? My calculations say it'll work and I haven't tried it yet, just trying to get away from bracketing the hash marks. FFP scope so no differece on magnification setting.

Yep. Try to pick a systematic approach that is easy to do instinctively, I would dial or hold vs using a combination but that's just me.

Hunting with this rifle so yes, that's the option.

You can hold and dial any combination. You can dial 5 and hold 2.5. Dial 2.5 and hold 5. I do holdover + dial for PRS matches. I dial my nearest target and hold everything else beyond by subtracting the initial hold
