Restoration of a 40XBBR

Story of my life! Was the regular trigger just a standard trigger ?
The 40X trigger had the pull adjustment screw at the bottom near the lever and is accessible without removing the stock. The standard Walker trigger had only the front pull adjustment screw which only accessible by removing stock. The 2oz. model was optional and did not have safety. Installing either one of these triggers would make little difference in complete restoration of the firearm. Most collectors of these would want a piece in the box in like new condition. The box will indicate 2oz. trigger or not. The box also serves as provenance as well. Without the box it will bring considerably less money even if restored.

I agree wholeheartedly but I am not trying to create a museum piece for resale. The original owner used it some. I used it some, and God willing I would appreciate being able to shoot it again in as original condition as I can . There are collectors and they are purists which I wouldn’t consider myself to be. At best I would consider myself to be an ”originality accumulator “ and I have found it difficult to find many buyers who agreed on my price but….. ! As a matter of fact ,LCazador , I think I bought the stock for it from you several years ago, and again ,Thank You!

PS : Anyone have a period Remington 2oz trigger that for a reasonable price wouldn’t mind selling it ?
Best bet would be to place a "Wanted" ad -- more people would see it. Be prepared, not everyone knows what the correct trigger looks like. There was at least one older 2 oz. trigger that Remington called the International, and it doesn't much resemble the one you are seeking.

I sold one on the forum about 2 years ago. Not much interest in it. Here are some pictures to help you identify one.

It contains information on the 2 oz. trigger -- read the description of both the top 2 models. The price list at the time shows Pease' price as an extra $95 for the 2 oz. trigger option. A short time later, I paid $110 for the 2 oz. option.
I was a senior in high school in 1985 and on the rifle team. I used to come home from practice and fondle this Bob Pease catalog dreaming of a 40XR. My parents bought me an Anschutz 1813 for graduation and I used it through college. I regretted on occasion not getting that 40XR. Today I regret it all the time!

I believe that I have an International and it doesn’t look like this one,it’s much bigger. To use that I would say is a no-no correct? Not finding one won’t kill me. Maybe a tuned Walker makes more sense.

Here is an International trigger along with a standard 700. The International came on the International Free Rifle models of the 40X and 40XB, of which there were few made. Also shown is a Hart trigger, very similar to the International, but the adjustable finger piece was attached and tightened up differently. There were customized versions of light 3 lever triggers made by various enterprising gunsmiths using the 700 trigger as a starting point.
