Resized brass should i just throw them away??

It sounds like you are good to go, the bolt closes freely on the resized case. Not all dies size the same but effortless chambering is what you are looking for. I use the small base dies for the AR and the M14 just to give me a little extra margin on functioning, I think it is a good practice but some will not agree.

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.. So if I don't push the shoulder back far enough it just won't chamber correctly?

The instructions with the dies will get you set up to make reloads to fit in the "typical" firearm. When loaded, you could hypothetically shot them in your gun, my gun, or the full auto rental at the local Zombie Apocalypse store. I load all of my ammo to fit MY gun. I don't care if it fits in my buddies gun, and I don't care to search out a rental if the Zombies attack. I size my brass to fit my gun...period. Semi-Auto you have to work the brass to get reliable feed. Neck sizing will not give you the allowances the semi-auto feed likes. You will get failure to lock, or non-feeds. Since you do work the brass a little more, you have to anneal more often than for a bolt gun. Use a brass that was fired in your gun, measure it, and set your die so you bump the shoulder .002-.003"...or to reliably feed. 4-5 Dummy rounds loaded and cycled will let you know if the dies is set right. Size too much and chance of case head separation increases. Size too little and you will get jambs. Size just right and you will get a lot of firings per brass, and will start to split necks long before case head separation.

Good luck,

Steve :)
