Reprofiling a Krieger barrel question

Krieger has offered to turn down an in stock; #17 heavy varmint .30 blank to a #8 standard target which I have been looking for.
Question: Does reprofiling a finished barrel blank cause any change to the bore. The turn around is 3 weeks. Turn around on a new order is 4 months. I would like a barrel sooner rather than later. But not at the expense of spoiling the bore.

What do you think ?

Kreigers are cut rifled so ther should be no change in the bore. They also know how to keep the heat from distorting it.

Button rifled barrels will enlarge the bore some if you turn them down. you're u can remove SOME metal but not a complete reprofile.

Thanks for the reply riflewoman. The #17 blank is .900 at the muzzle. The #8 is .820.
.080" is not alot and if you go slow with Krieger doing the work, "should" be ok. Not a fan of "should be's".
I don't think I want to wait 4 months for a new #8 barrel. Any thoughts ?

They all have to be profiled before they are sold...I have had this done a few times. The barrel worked as expected, just fine.

My present Silhouette high power rifle has a Krieger barrel that has been re-contoured 3 different times in a lathe from 1600 +- rounds take off 26" target X Course contour to standard silhouette contour, to its present hunter weight contour. If I do not clean the copper out of it, just the carbon, the first shot during sighters goes exactly where the last shot went at a previous match. It is just as accurate now as it was when new. If I could hold it better in standing it could win some matches!
