RW said:It is a shilen trigger and it is on a left handed action. On closer examination of the trigger, the holes where the ball bearing sits; on the side if it was right handed The holes have a bevel. On the other side to make it a left hand configuration the holes don't have the bevel making the bearing sit a little higher putting more spring pressure against the clip. I changed the safety from another trigger and it was enough to get the clip installed!! But from now on I will certainly go with a Timney as it comes with the safety installed, because while I got it to work, it is very stiff since the holes are not beveled to allow the ball to move smooth from hole to hole. I would take it apart and bevel them but I sure it is hardened and be a pain in the butt to drill so I will live with it. So if any one thinks about a shilen on a left handed action you will have to modify it to work right, just a heads up, Ron
Not nearly as good, IMO. I've never had any problems setting a Shilen Std. trigger up in the LH mode. Sounds to me like some triggers got out without all the chamfering for the detent ball on the LH side. I've never had to modify or alter a Shilen Std. trigger to be able to use a LH safety. They've all come ready to install the safety, RH or LH. Maybe they've changed? It's been awhile since I've ordered. I've still got a couple from the last batch I ordered (from Shilen).RW said:Good point. How are the timney trigger as apposed to the Shilen?
