While this may be unwelcome, but I'm going to say it anyway, because I myself thought it would be a good idea to modify a MkII many many years ago. It was a huge mistake, and I wish I could get my time and money back.
A savage MkII is not the pedigree of firearm that is deserving of custom work. Period. Secondly, anything is possible, but it's likely to be bubba-smithing at its finest. It would require modification of the mag port in the action, as well as a custom magazine hanger that will require custom stock inletting. By the time it's done, you'll have spent over $1000-$2000 at least, on a potato of a rifle.
I implore you, save your money, buy a higher pedigree rifle that is already what it's suppose to be.
