Replacement Triggers for Savage Actions

I'm at the point where I need to replace the factory Accu-Trigger on my modified Savage FP10LE2B. I've been spoiled by my Jewell's and several professionally tweaked Remington triggers. The Accu-Trigger, while good for a factory rifle, just doesn't cut it any more.

The two that I have in mind are the Rifle Basix SAV-2 and the SharpShooter Supply trigger. I don't have the opportunity to try either trigger, so I'm looking for some feedback from shooters who have experience with either design.

Is one markedly superior to the other? In which ways? Is one easier to install and adjust than the other? Is one susceptable to dirt more than the other, and does either require regular readjustment, tinkering, etc?

TIA

I have both and the SSS trigger is by far the best. However, the SSS will only go down to about 12 oz. The Rifle Basix was fairly easy to install, basically a drop in replacement) but took quite a bit of tinkering to get the pull weight where I wanted it. My RB is on a hunting rig so it's not set real low but they supposedly go to 2oz.

My SSS trigger was installed by Fred at SSS while having the action trued and timed....that is one sweeeeet trigger! I can't give you much on installation, but I do know the SSS requires mods to the original bracket.....part of it has to be removed.

I've had both triggers for over a year and neither has required any kind of "up keep".

Bottom line: If you need something under 12 oz., the rifle basix will serve you well. If 12 oz. or above is enough, by all means get the SSS.

Ya what he said! I have both and both are great. But me too on Fred. Great guy to know. I did however install both of mine with zero problems.

I replaced my accutrigger with a Rifle Basix #2 for F class 300 meter shoooting and it was a snap to install and adjust. I have it adjusted to 6 oz. On my upcoming rifle project, if I get to it, I'll use a Savage action with the Rifle Basix. Dead nuts simple but with enough adjustment options to satisfy the engineer-in-training.
