Replacement Trigger for Sako A1 Action

I have a HB Sako 6 PPC (A1 action) with the Sako special BR-adjustable (through holes in the TG) trigger that can be safely set down to about 8 oz. (possibly less, but I haven't tried). I'm planning to pick up a Sako 6 PPC (A1 action) sporter-weight repeater that just has the usual Sako single-stage trigger that bottoms out at about 2 lbs. I'd like to be able to replace it with one that can be safely adjusted down into the ounces.

It's highly unlikely I can get one from Sako like that on my HB rifle (that model was made in the 1980s, and Sako is now under Beretta ownership), so I'm trying to find one elsewhere--without any success so far. Jewell doesn't make one, nor do Jard, Huber, Bix'n Andy, and the other top-end after-market trigger-makers. Timney make a replacement trigger for this action, but it only goes down to 1.5 lbs. So my question is: Do any of you guys know a solution to this problem? Either a replacement unit that I don't know about or some work-around like use of a very light spring in the Timney.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Dan Dowling worked one down to 6 ounces for me. You might contact him. Neil Jones might be another possibility. He works miracles on Remington triggers.

I may be able to help you, but I need to see a picture of the trigger. there are two styles from back then and they are not transferable. One is a Mauser style and the other one has a center post rod safety. On the Mauser you are out of luck unless you can find an used Canger. A trigger smith may be able to help you. I can only get them to around 6 oz.

Mike, suppose I went to the Timney trigger made for the Sako A1 action. Could you tune that down to 6 oz.? It comes adjustable down to 1.5 lbs.
