Replacement savage bolt

I have a friend that has somehow lost the bolt for his savage .270.
before I help him I would like to what I’m getting myself in to.
Can I just get a replacement bolt with the .473 bolt face if so what about availability and cost.
I’ve replaced savage barrels and have the tools to do so including the Go Gauge.

I would think that as long as the bolt is compatible with the action (year of manufacture) then yes everything should be good.
What is the letter and the first three number of the serial number.

Him and I are both truck drivers and he’s on the road same as I right now.
he’s going to send me pictures and serial numbers around Christmas.
I’ll look at midway.

You can also check out Numerich.

From what i remember you have short (model 10,11,12) or long (Model 110,111,112) actions with different bolt faces you can get separately.
You can change a long action bolt face and go from 223 Rem to 30-06, to 7mm Rem Mag and back for example.

My friend brought his rifle over today for me to look at it.
Turns out it is not a savage 110 but a Mossberg 100 ATR.
After a little research I’ve determined that it is no longer a rifle but a prop rod for the hood on his car.
Ive learned a lesson today, there’s a lot of people that shouldn’t own firearms.

Well if he wants to fill the action where bolt goes for aesthetics he could push a hotdog into the action

I would make damn sure I didn't go shooting with him.
