Replacement motor for Thumblers UV-10 vibratory tumbler

Anyone replaced a motor on a Thumblers UV-10? I bought this one used back around 1990 and it has been reliable since then. I was running it yesterday afternoon and came out to the shop after supper to turn it off. I noticed that it was kind of surging. I took a good look at it this morning and noticed that a chunk of the housing was broken off. I disassembled it this afternoon and the bearings are good but the piece that holds the bearing steady has disintegrated. I have been looking online and cannot seem to find a direct replacement. I did find a replacement for the industrial version for $175 but mine is a standard. I'm wondering if anyone found one to retrofit.

I bought this one, works well, but you are going to be limited to only the vibratory function and not tumbling.

Had my thumbler tumbler for a long time. Motor went out and I spent more time and money getting a motor put in it, only to find it didn’t have enough power, as mentioned above.
Tried another different motor, it lasted about three batches.
I ended up getting a new heavy duty unit that winter. I have picked up two more since then, dirt cheap at a garage sales and swap meets.
One of them the lady told me it was a broken lettuce spinner to get the water out of your salads. I had to force her to take $1, it was marked .25. I told her I could fix it ;-). No box but clean as new in side the bowl.

Not familiar with the tumbler but such a small motor shouldn't cost that much. If the motor attached to the drum by a belt it could use almost any motor. Check out some of the electronics websites that guys are using to build annealers.

The UV-10 is vibratory tumbler like a Lyman 1200, no belts.

What brand/model? The vibratory cleaner usually has a small weight on the motor shaft. If it is loose there will probably not be any vibration.

This one:

I also have a small Hornady vibratory bowl. On both there is only vibratory action. Nothing rotates to cause the cases to tumble.

I once had Thumler's Tumbler. The drum rotated which caused the cases to tumble.

If this link works… You can see the brass tumble as it vibrates.
Brass in a vibratory bowl just turns or circulates from the vibration. It doesn't fall (tumble) like in a rotary unit. I have two vibratory bowls and have seen them operate loaded with brass long, long ago.

Wow. Crazy thing to argue about. To me if the brass pokes it neck out but goes in base first…. That’s a tumble. But to each their own. Cheers!
