I just emailed CZ and told them they need to bring the 527 back, that the 600 isn't a replacement in any way. They are hard to find, particularly in .223.
CZ must have hired an accountant to run the company because their big game rifles are gone and they've chinced on their rifles. Their pistols are great, but only the 457's are interesting to me any longer in their rifle line.
I think if the 527's weren't selling it was a marketing issue. If you remember the box they came in new, there was a picture of a hot blonde chick holding the rifle across the entire front of the box and probably most guys didn't want to walk out of the store with the rifle in that box under their arms. That's a problem. You know what they say, though. This is my rifle, this is my gun, this one's for fighting, this one's for fun. A lot of people get the two mixed up, if you know what I mean.
Women don't buy that many long guns so CZ's US marketing staff probably misled them on that one.
The 600 is all plastic and it has some plastic button right in the action on the right side, might be the bolt release but it is scary plastic.
