Reolading for Weatherby's

Am buying a 7mm Weatherby Mag. Looking at reloading using the 270 WB Mag brass if I can't get the 7mm. The manuals show nearly identical measurements except the belt, rim area. Too close to call so I thought I better ask someone here.

Thanks

I can't imagin that there would be ANY differance in the belt or web on any of the 270-7mm-300-340 wby brass. They all require a .532 bolt face . The Old Hodgdon # 26 I have has all of the numbers exactly the same on all of the wby brass in all measurements in the case head/web area. Necking the 270 up or the 7mm down should not be any trouble as long as it chambers since the headspace is off of the belt. All of my 1000 yard 300 wby brass is made simply by necking down the 340 wby case to 300 wby. The case length is the same for both. The 257, 270 and 7mm cases are all the same overall lenght.

I say load and shoot.

Thanks for the info. I thought there was a slight difference in the rim & belt but I found some 270 WB mag cases for a decent price. Stamped 270 but I'll be the only one using them, so...

Thanks again
