Rendezvous 4.0 , what a great week!
This match played out in my head and was talked about while traveling to matches with my buddies, the year escapes me but my best guess is 2014 to 2015 ish.
It has worked, the camaraderie! Is what makes it, bringing the best shooters from all corners of the country together. We eat like kings, we laugh until our belly’s hurt, we might be known to party just a bit, we make memories that will last forever, and we do a lil shooting, throw in the rentless soul crushing valley conditions at times and it makes for a hell of a match.
11000 rds down range in three days, best estimate
Who knows how many rds from tuning starting on the Friday before, I just know I wore blisters on my toes going back and forth.
Only had three target corners come loose on 1098 record targets! That is a testament, to the most badass tartget crew on the planet.
The match payout was just shy of 15000.00 cash not counting closest to the X pot each day, which was 940.00 per day.
16880.00 pd out
The generosity of this bunch was overwhelming, Denise and Mike donated a Rendezvous bear that she hand makes, silent auction and a fun shoot gathered up 1000.00 for a local family with a very sick granddaughter.
The target crew bucket had 840.00 , with what we paid them and your generous donation, we had some happy kids, that learned that hard work is rewarded and noticed!!!
We had two records broke, Mark Niezabitowski set a single target high score at 1000yds 50/ 2.510”
Chuck Napikoski owns the 8 target 600 yd score record with a 388/2.579”
Congrats guys
I have not checked the 20 target Agg records as of yet.
The weather for 4.0, well we didn’t have any rain or hurricanadors, but we did have some relentless switchy winds that got better as the days went by, the first hot days of 2024 for us.
We started with 69 on the rooster ended up with 66 shooters, we missed the three that were held up for health reasons.
When it was all said and done!
The 16 Target agg overall winner and a guy that really never had shot 1000yds Curt T Knitt came out on top, Hell of a finish, I took his Garmin away and he still came out on top!
After the top fourteener were picked and we had the head to head match bench vs. bench,
Seven of the best came out on top and went to the Super Seven Showdown
Shawn Williams from Montana put it on them!
Shawn was on a mission and it was very apparent he had something figured out down range.
He beat the local Dan Hullinger at his second home.
Congrats to all the winners!
I’ll be posting more in the coming days, I’m sitting in a truck stop somewhere in South Dakota currently, but I wanted to get this out there!
You guys and girls rocked, I never had to leave the line to find a shooter,
Thanks to everyone that helps, you know who you are, thanks to my crew, thanks to the all the companies that help sponsor this match in some form, without all of you the Rendezvous wouldn’t be what it is! And huge thanks to Sara Pollard Jacobs for putting up with me and the work I create, guys none of this would be possible without this girl but I know you all already know that.
