Remove Reminton 700 Ejector?

Guys, can I just remove my ejector for using my rifle as a BR with follower? I hate having to carefully nurse the brass out each shot so at to not shoot it across the bench.

Yes...just be carefull when driving the roll pin,retaining pin) out to not let it fly under the bench ....you will never find it again,,,dont ask how I know)...when doing the removal it is a good idea to do it wiht the parts in a baggie so nothing "flies away"....Roger

Thanks expiper, its funny how things just mysteriously jump to the most remote, dark, hard to get to place in your garage.

I'm positive that, if keeping score, 95% plus of all my lost parts jump to the best hiding place possible

Sinclair has a nice little Remington ejector removal tool, works well.

I usually just cut the spring down enough to allow the empty case it poke out just far enough to get a hold of them..... With a real narrow ejection port it's hard to get in there to get em by hand....

I have a neat tool that I made,copy of Sinclair?) but often, I just put a case in the bolt head and compress the spring while I drive out the cross-pin. It takes some practice to hold the case with your little finger while you hold the punch in place.

Hey Dan...I forgot sumthin,nuthin new for lil' ole' me,,hahah)
You can also replace the original,stiffffff) spring with a winmpy aftermaket spring and the empties just roll out on to the bench and you throw in a fresh one and you and the rifle become a shootin machine...open-shut//open-shut//open-shut...get it!!!
Most of the competitive rifles/shooters are using this method currently...once you get it working you wonder how u ever shot anyother way....just another option....we all shot em with the ejector unhooked or most true Benchrest actions for many yrs had NO ejector...the more things change the more they are the same...Roger
