Selling a Remington XP-100 Rifle 17 Mach 4, HS Precision Stock, with a 22" stainless Lilja Barrel 1:10 twist.
The action was blueprinted, and the stock is pillar bedded. The trigger breaks cleanly at 1 pound 11 ounces. Rifle with rings but no scope, weight in at 7 pounds 6.2 ounces. Length of pull is about 13 3/4". Muzzle diameter .688".
With load development I've only gotten to about .5" accuracy with best load, under 1" or less is consistent with 8208 and 20 gr Varmageddon HP bullets. The accuracy is fine for varmints like coyotes or rock chucks, and PD's, and so on.
I took it to my gunsmith and had him check it over. The headspace is set correctly, the bedding was done very well, only moved .002 in relation to stock when tightening the action screw. The crown is good. The barrel looks shiny and clean from both ends, his borescope didn't go down to .17 caliber, so can't view the interior.
I think the freebore might be a bit long, so that might be something to change, and tighten up the groups. The gunsmith only found the front scope base screw was too long, and so he shortened it, and re-mounted the base. You could shoot it as is, try re-cutting the chamber to have less freebore. Or, use this as a wonderful action and stock for another caliber, like a 17 Fireball, 20 Vartarg, or 221 fireball! The XP-100 action is very stout and does not flex, similar to a Cooper, and is shorter than the Rem 700 short action.
Rifle, with scope base and 1" universal dovetail rings, no scope, I'm asking $795 + shipping.
If you want set of RCBS FL dies for 17M4, plus 165 of Remington R-P 221 Fireball brass that was shot through this rifle, add $125.
I also made a few hundred 17 Mach IV brass from LC for this rifle, which I also will be selling, have to figure out how many I've got, a number are already shot through this rifle, so fireformed and ready to go. Those can also be used in a 17 Fireball rifle. They are neck turned to .013.
I have a set of new Burris 30mm Signature Rings, medium, dovetail, which I can add for $40, just got them for this rifle for $65.
Payment: Can do check from gold or silver members with time to clear, or Postal MO. Also, by electronic can do Zelle as I have Wells Fargo and can give you info.
