If you guys think it is bad for Illion N.Y. think about the Ct river valley all the big-name gun makers were here for years, now they are all gone, except for Colt.
Ruger, Winchester, Remington, Marlin, H.R., all gone to brighter places. Hundreds of tool makers, tool setters, operators all layed off after years of service.
Big empty buildings that are still standing and every so often catch fire for no reason (rats with matches) and the taxpayers are held liable for the condition of the building.

It's warmer then some want to realize !! We just had a Battalion of
our 112th Inf. Regiment activated and sent to the Horn of Africa. They
are a component of the 56th Stryker Brigade combat team, 28th Inf Div.
They'll be on the shores of the Gulf of Aden where the US Navy has been
conducting live fire practice on missile installations that have been
interrupting shipping......

As for Remington ?? You can't really blame New York itself without looking
at the much bigger picture. Equity and holding firms are the rats with the
match's in more then one state. These people buy and sell brands with no
regards to no one. Remington went bankrupt. What happened next was
even more. The fuse was lit, and it finally found the last keg.
