Remington SA receivers available at Brownells

Both stripped and with a 308 bolt face.

I'm thinking this means that Rem Arms is well into production.

That is a stripped (receiver only) no bolt, possibly comes with a trigger (weird maybe an error in description). Where did you see 308 bolt face?

Mfr Part: R85270

Sorry. I just lined the stripped action. As @shortgrass linked, there is the one with a 308 bolt face.

Seems high for a stripped reciever.... but it can be trued, race way bored etc... and a 1 piece bolt of your diameter requirements and M16 extractor pin and spring ordered from PT&G. I also get the ejector pin and 2 springs, install the light
spring for easy target type ejections out of your reciever...and a complete firing pin assembly with a small dia firing pin to fit your bolts small firing pin that you specified in your order on the bolt...you now have the potential of a really accurate rifle...coupled with a premium barrel of coarse. But in the day you could buy a whole new Remington BDL varmint for $199. Regular store price. My brother bought a new 30-06 ADL complete rifle for $96 on sale after returning from Vietnam. Killed all kinds of game with it for years...times change, and the dollar is almost worthless.

Youre in the range of a kelbly atlas at that point unless youre doing the work yourself

I do all the action work myself, I'm a retired machinist with two lathes and a mill. All the carbide tools are already paid for. My Remington actions are from factory rifles bought years ago cheap. So most are just free labor. I can build a complete rifle in a day if am ambitious but usually 2 days...take of old barrel, get the Bartlein barrel from Bugholes, thread, chamber, thread for muzzle break, completely true the Remington action, machine bolt handle and new bolt knob. Use Remington trigger or aftermarket which is what I usually do. My 6 Dasher took 2 days...ran 13 targets at 100 5 shot groups averaged .313" with the 13 different loads and bullets. Had trouble telling which was more accurate RL 15 or Varget, ain't that good of a shooter anymore plus this off a matt on your belly not a bench. The speed deamon was 6.5 Staball. No, I don't do barrel break in...shot em one after the other no cleaning, until I get home. Don't even take a cleaning rod. But you do you,..my ideas and procedures definitely ain't for everyone. Use to break in barrels 20 to 25 yrs ago...but that was then.
Did a 22" 308 9 twist Bartlein 5 r that shoots 200 gr smk at 10 shots into .782 " good enough for me...at 7.75 lbs with a used stock added a mag feed system, a muzzle break and tactical bolt knob for fun... all for under $550 with new barrel and used parts I already had. Use whatever action you choose, as there are plenty on the market. I use trued Remingtons cause they are free or almost free, as I do all the work and a trued Remy gest it done well enough for me, so I can by more components to shoot, and an not concerned about how long a barrel will last, or resale value, cause I ain't got much in it but I'm getting my moneys worth out of it.

If you got one of the Remington 700 actions from the last couple of years you would find you don't need to do all of that work. Are they the same as a custom action, no. But they are WAY better than they used to be.

YUP,. Agree with THIS ^^^ My Rem. 700 SA SS was PERFECT and came with, a Bolt for $550 ish.
They are Made on CNC Machines so,.. what's not, to like ?
I lightly "Lapped" the Lugs and Installed a Criterion Barrel with a CrownRidge nut, Jewell Trigger and Bingo, the lil' 6 XC shoots, ONE ragged Hole groups, in the 2's & 3's with 80, 95 and 108 grain, Bergers !
That's about as good as I can shoot, anyway at, 74 y/o, it WON'T Win a Benchrest shoot but, the Sage Rats and Coyotes,.. FEAR it !
IF, I were going to build another Rifle ( looking at, 7 SAUM for, an Elk Rifle ) It would be on a Tikka action.
$10.00 Trigger Spring ( saves $150 -$200 on Triggers ) and feeds ALL, the WSM / SAUM, "Fatties" perfectly !
Got 3 Tikka's now and,.. LOVE them !

I NEED a Remington 700 short action bolt body. I went to order one from grizzlies yesterday and they where out. Those where supposed to be one piece stainless bolt handle made into body

The new ones may headspace similarly, but IME (with RR prefixes), the handles are still poorly indexed for the extraction cam.
