Remington 700 SA stainless single shot

My son bought 2 rem SS action guns a Dicks at $500 ea. You get a cheap thow away stock and a resalable new barrel. That seems like a better buy than Bronells, plus no FFL fees at Dicks.

But the OP Actions discussed above are RR700 Single Shots , not repeaters, not available at Dicks or any other big box Stores.

BTW,,,That was a good buy a Dicks for a Repeater>

Like T 700 asked, do they have the ugly UPC code on the side of the action like the newer repeaters? Under the bolt handle I can live with, but on the side ruined it for me.

For the life of me, I can't comprehend what they were thinking??? Even if I was an average customer (who didn't care about a custom rifle), the UPC code on the side would be a deal breaker for me. It's flat out ugly ... No if's, and's or but's about it.

Mine has no such markings and also has what appears to be a 40X trigger. Trigger pull measures 2.5# as received. These are a great deal for a slngle shot action. Bolt timing also looks to be very good and the bolt is jeweled to boot. What's not to like. I too was very skeptical when I purchased this but I am pleasantly surprised. Just my .02.

That was a pretty good buy. Those Model 7s they have are a pretty good but also. They have "blemished" ones for $220 with no trigger if I remember right.
