Remington Rifle Current Production Quality?

I bought a vs 22-250 in the 90s and for the time was my most accurate h380 load for yrs....at one time in my life I was thinking of the bitter root and bought a pre bolt lock 700 stainless synthetic in the new .338rum. changed recoil pad, old leo 3x9 and it's a safe queen. I wear glasses now so I don't shoot it much.

Exactly, the 7 and 300 SAUM were the only short actions marked as Senderos.
Were those maybe distributor exclusives? I once saw, in the 90s, a 6mm Remington Varmint Synthetic (VS), which, as far as I know, was never really a full-fledged catalog offering and people will say that it never existed, but I saw *ONE*, new in a shop when I bought my RH .223 VS. I wish I had bought the 6mm instead.

Some time ago I posted on Remington and wanted to know what was up with them on wither or not the new ownership was going under already, due to getting no replies back on several emails sent on various topics.

If you listen to Ron Spomer, he says under the new ownership quality control is the best it's ever been. To date, the 700 Varmint SF has yet to have any picture post on their site, and the 17FB brass is STILL unavailable along with others.

Has anyone actually bought any of the new generation Remington's? If so, what's the good, bad or ugly on them?
All i can say is they are not what they were.. Tommy Mc

Spend any time comparing Remington and Tikkas, barring nostalgia, and Tikkas come out on top in my world. Smoothest bolt throw, best trigger and great factory barrels.
I dealt with too many Remington’s primary extraction issues and gravel road bolt throws to put Remington even in the top three.
Ive shot several Tikka and they are excellent for the money. Personally id just get a clone or maybe sako or begara if not rem 700. We are spoiled these days with so many choices unlike the old days.

Tikka make great guns. Personally if not a 700 or a 700 clone id go with sako or bergara. We are spoiled these days with so many solid rifles unlike the old days.

Sometimes you will get models that were never listed by the mfgs. The box stores buy in bulk and arrange for 'specials'. My Axis in .223 came with a varmint weight barrel and special camo paint stock. Savage had never put anything but a std weight barrel on an Axis at that time. Cabela's had a run of model 12FV rifles that were priced lower than most of the std offerings. Varmint barrels, varmint accu-trigger. When they went on sale it was like stealing candy from a baby. They were never listed by Savage.

In the old days Sears and Mont Wards (and others) would do the same kind of thing but they would have their name stamped on them. Even way back some importers would ask for special production runs, like Westley Richards or Parker-Hale. Most of those were stamped with importer marks, but, some were not.

Creates the problem of someone ten years from now claiming they have a certain rifle but there is no mfg listing for it. Some will claim it is a custom or a hack job when it was really just a special run.

I found a new left hand action made in New york in 2021. I screwed it on a old criterium barrel. the action has been very good shoots .6 moa at 100 yards and about 2 inch groups at 300 yards. I shot it today in a very cold strong wind and was quite pleased. I actually bought the second one but have not shot it. The factory trigger is pretty heavy but crisp. Color me impressed. I'm not sure it the current owners made this action but its a nice as a custom except no attached recoil lug
