Remington nylon mod 12

I have recently received a Remington nylon mod 12 bolt action that was neglected . After hours of carefully cleaning the rifle there was pitting rust on the end and side of the barrel and tube feed . Was wanting some input as to what to do with the rifle .
The stock is in fair shape except for a place in the forfend checkering .
Was wondering what the gun is worth , should I pay to refurbish or leave original . Thanks Dale

I have never seen one of those.I would like to see a pic of that. When I was growing up the Rem nylon 66 was the 22lr to have.I really like those little guns.

In doing some research , Remington claims they were only made between 1960 and 1963 and only 2700 were produced I have seen them listed the whole gambit , from 350 to 1200 , still leaves me with the question of reblue , or keep original .
Then the question of selling it to someone who collects them so it would get the proper care or slap it in the back of the safe and forget it .
Any ideas ? I'll try to get some pics in the next day or two . Thanks Dale
