Remington model 722 - scope base question

Some manufacturers list a base for the 700 and 722 with the same part number.

Other manufacturers list a base with the same part number for the 600, 660, 700, 721, and a bunch of other models EXCEPT for the 722, which suggests that the base will not work on the 722.

So, will a 700 base fit a on a 722 action?

Google search yielded minimal results, which only confused the matter a little more. I don't have any rem 700 bases to test fit, which is why I'm asking. I'd rather get confirmation that a 700 base will work on my 722 prior to ordering it.

My experience is that 700 bases fit 722's perfectly. Hope this helps.

My 722 didn't come drilled and tapped for scope bases.

I have two F Class rifles built on 722 actions, 6SLR and .223. They both take Weaver 700 Tactical bases.

My action is drilled/tapped, so that part is not a problem. That makes me wonder if it was done from the factory though?

The short 700 is the same space etc. as the 722 and the long 700 is like a 721,,,,UNLESS it is "custom" drilled by an individual.....Roger
