remington model 7

They use a shorter version of the same action used in the Model 700 which is a "push feed type action".

The Model 7 has gone through a transition over the years. The model 7 is more like an model 600 with a straight bolt handle. The rear tang screw is smaller OD. The magazine boxes have evolved over the years. The early mag boxes had retaining screws through a small tab on the back of the box. The bolt bodies of the model 7 have always been .701 OD, with the same bolt nose as a model 700 just a shorter action and bolt. Tenon diameter and threads are the same 1.0625 x 16 tpi. The model 7 is a very desired action as is works well with varmint and target cartridges.
Nat Lambeth

Model Seven 's action based on XP-100 single shot (1962), later modified as a repeater, models 600/660, and after a production lapse of 12 years, re-introduced as Model 7.
