Im looking to build a Model 7 with a detachable mag system for a .223 across the course gun/ prone gun. I noticed that PTG sells botom metal that uses aics mags for the model 7 with the .223 mag kits, but I cant find any reviews. Anyone ever install aics mags on a model 7 in .223? how did they work?

I installed a PT&G Model 7 DBM on my .17Predator. That blown out case & short neck would sometimes be finicky to feed from the blind magazine. With DBM & single stack AI magazine, rounds feed & function great...
I'm having a Micky GameScout built for that rifle, and sent that M7 DBM to McMillan for proper fitment. So they should have no problem inletting for the PT&G M7 DBM from here, on out...
Just be aware that the .223 version of the DBM will ONLY ACCEPT POLYMER AI .223 MAGS! PT&G made the magwell for the .223 DBM just big enough for the AI .223 mag. A standard AICS mag, or a polymer MDT .223 mag is TOO FAT to fit up into the .223 DBM's magwell.
If you want to run standard AICS, or MDT .223 mags, then order the .308 based M7 DBM from PT&G...
