Remington manufacture date????????

How can you determine the date of manufacture based on the serial number..... not the barrel code? I have a 40x with a custom barrel so the barrel code system won't help me.

Thanks for the help, but that is the barrel stamp "system" I need something off of the actual serial number.

You Might try oldguns.net Scale down on left Column to Manf. Dates, lots of good info on that site , Has Manf. dates for winchester & Remington. Good luck
