bought a brand new remington 700 action, had a very competent gunsmith put a barrel on it, thats done. anyway when i come to take the screws out of the reciever for the bases to put a scope on. the very front screw of the 4 was epoxied in. hole was full of glue under the screw. finally got that out and looked a lot closer, no threads, someone mustve screwed up and figured this is the easiest way to send the reciever down the line. so ive got some ideas to fix it but just looking for some second opinions. this is brand new. screws were never touched until i needed to put bases on now. barrel is mounted so i am not sending anything back. what size screws are those? look like a #4? and the tpi? just wanted to add before i started i did not see any indication on the screws to where they were ever touched between me and the factory.
