Remington Boltface resize

If a fella has a Remington 700 223(.375) PTG bolt with a Sako extractor can it be sized to .473 ? How do/would you modify the extractor to work on the larger rim?

You'll have to install an m16 extractor.

Not easy. Nightraider's suggestion will work but you will have the sako cutout to deal with. you should sell it and buy a 308 faced bolt.

Not trying to hijack a thread but I wonder something. If the action is for a 223 diameter cartridge, and you use it for a 30-06 diameter cartridge, with no other changes, how would the cartridge feed well?

Probably not very well. It is a short action. The loading port can be modified easily.

You would have to change magazine box and follower and spring from 223 one. Toms

If you made a thicker Sako extractor and moved the extractor groove out to a larger diameter then it would be super easy to modify the diameter of the bolt face. That's not a easy task for most but it makes converting easy.
