remington bolt mod

I stumbled upon this modification http://www.jamescalhoon.com/rem.php for a remington bolt. I have not seen this modification discussed anywhere before, given that it has potential safety benefits I am baffled as to why it doesn't seem to be a common mod. Am I missing something, are there any potential problems associated with this modification or is it just not worth it?

I never seen it done before, but that Calhoon always came up with good ideas..
I can see no reason it wouldn't do as stated, and certainly would cause no problems to the bolt body..
