Remington 870 with detachable magazine

I was looking it some thing on the web and saw Remington 870s with an attachment added to the receiver that adapted a detachable magazine to the shotgun. I think it was on Remington's site. Has anyone got one or shot one yet?

I could see one on an 1100, if they still made 1100s. Seems to me there's a potential for that big ol' magazine being in the way for pumping. It would rock on a Benelli M4 Tactical.

I have shot a cheap Turkish made shotgun that had the dbm thing done to it.... and I would concur with the above statement that it is a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist..

It’s not like by doing this you would be ditching the mag tube.
I will say this... If someone was going to use it for a HD rig I would definitely try the ammo that you want to use and A LOT of it to ensure if feeds good with no jams.

I don't think it would help in a hunting situation but if it was dependable, I think it would have a place in 3 gun competitions... has to be a faster reload than stuffing the mag tube.

.
exactly,, What they saved in tube weight, they added back in that clunky looking mag frame,, If that thing wouldn't grab every loose vine or tall grass, I don't know what would,,,

Exactly. Then they put the mag release in front? Snag some branch and it ejects the mag? Great option! Must be why every army puts them behind the magazine.
