22-250 and a detachable magazine?

So im wanting to build a 22-250 from a Remington 700 SA, Manners T4 stock and a Bartlien barrel. I have a extra Pacific Tool and Gauge detachable magazine bottom metal. I tried finding online if people are shooting the 22-250 from AICS .308 magazines and found little luck. I would like to know if it works or not. Im sure there is somebody on here that has this rifle or have tried this before. Thanks

I have NOT personally tried this, but I can`t see why it shouldn`t work........ :o

Sorry I can`t confirm this for you.

Phil.

I figured it works too, but I wanna know 100% that it does. Thanks. On Accurate Mags website it says that the 22-250 works in the .308 mags. Im sure the AICS mags are about exactly the same as Accurate Mags.

Works just fine. I use a DBM some with my 22-.250 ( built on a Rem. S/A ). Never had the first hiccup....

Yeah, AM & AICS mags are basically identical, and both work perfectly in PTG DBM. Only difference I can tell is the AM mags have a slightly stiffer spring, which makes that first round out of a full mag be a little stiffer for the bolt to strip out.

The only concern I'd have with the 22-250 is that the case has a lot of body taper, which I suppose could cause some issues with how well the magazine feedlips will retain rounds in a full mag. However, I've fireformed a goodly number of 6XC brass out of 22-250, and didn't have any real problems out of DPMS AR10 mags.

I just unscrewed (literally) the 22-250 barrel from a 700 SA that was fed my AI mags in PTG bottom metal. Fed just fine.

Swapping in a PTG bolt with a Sako extractor and chambering a Bartlein for 6BR this weekend. I'm fond of the 22-250, but it's time to get back to my roots.
