Remington 7RM reduced recoil loads?

Has anyone ever run these over a chronograph? I've got an 75 year old friend who insists on shooting his 7mm RM for eastern whitetails. He's had 2 open hearts and while he has several other (smaller) rifles, he's somewhat stubborn. His son found him some of the 140 gr reduced recoil loads several years ago that really work well for him but now he's running low. I've got lots of different powder and bullets to work with. I'd like to try to duplicate some loads for him and I'm just looking for a target MV.

For an initial reference, you can always take a few low recoil loads apart and weigh the powder. I’ll bet there is some notable difference.

Then, look up some loads for the components you have and start at the low end of the charge range. Have your friend do as much of the load development shooting as he can tolerate. He’s the best standard for measuring recoil in this exercise.

I bet y’all come up with a more accurate load and will grow your friendship in the process. Or he’ll opt for a lower recoil rifle.

Best wishes! Enjoy the time you get to spend with him.

H-4895 at 2/3 of max is a Hodgdon recommendation. Hodgdon online does not list H-4895. But does show 59 of Varget which is a bit slower so 40gr H-4895 will be safe. Less than a factory 7-08 load.
Remington 7mag Reduced Recoil 140 grain. 2710fps.

I have used the Hodgdon data with H4895 and 125gr Nosler BTs in a 300Win mag.
It shoots 1" groups and kicks like a .30-30. It has taken many deer without any problems. Just place the shot well and keep the range modest. It is also perfect for practice loads.
Use a similar load for his 7 mag and he will like it.
