Hi @Swingingahammer, I know this is an old thread.. But I am picking up a 788 in 308 this weekend. It has a nice custom walnut stock that has an extremely high comb on it. The gun at the moment has see thru rings on it just so the scope sits high enough that you can see thru it. I plan on looking for an original walnut stock to put the gun back to original condition. Is this something you are still looking for and would be interested in? I know it's not exactly what you are looking for but I figured I would offer
