Remington 788 308 win. scope mount

I'm having a problem trying to find a one piece scope base for a Remington model 788 308 win.
I purchased all three red field mounts short, long, and xtra long, and one weaver long action. the problem none of these line up with the pre drilled mounting holes in the receiver. the holes in the mounts are shorter. I've called Remington and have gotten the manufacters date is 1975, other than that they can't get me any other info. I have another Remington 788 in 243 win manufactored in 1974 and has the same predrilled hole pattern. Measuring from the front hole to the back hole center to center is 4 3/16 inches and the second hole to back hole is 3 5/16 center to center. any help figuring out what mount to get will be appreciated.

I had looked around on 788s a bit and on a couple forums guys talked about scope bases for an extra long action. This was referenced to be the 243/308/6mm size.
This does not agree with my sensibilitys but neither does you having 3 long action mounts that dont fit.
They thought
44 mag short
223 long
308 extra long
So if this helps you I will be glad, if Im a moron please forgive me.My 788 has 2 piece bases so its of no help.

Since it has been 25+ years since remington stopped production of the 788 dimensions may be lost by manufactures. Tasco bases purchased in the 80s fit. You may need to redrill your redfield bases. On a side note new manfacture 40XB bases had to be shimmed to fit? If it will not fit make the necessary adjustments. PM i will send base dimensions if required, good luck.

Maybe contact EGW and see what bolt hole pattern they have.

If you want a two piece integral Redfield mount...I'll look at the hole dimensions.

I don't know the dimensions, but I have an EGW on my 788 308 and it lined up perfectly. Mine was made in 1983.
