Nowill a 700 aftermarket trigger and hangar fit?
I like the 783 but it’s not a close fit in a 700 stock. It’s closer to a savage and I’ve actually put a SA 783 in a SA savage stock. Wouldnt recommend it though. Also have had trouble finding parts — common stuff like extractors ejectors ect. I’ve actually made some guard screws out of blanks.Seems I read a post some time in the last year or so regarding using the Rem. 783 action instead of the 700 because it had tighter tolerances and such. Anyone have any input? Is the footprint close enough for easy mod from one to the other?
Marlin extractor fits - and a Savage Model 10 only needs a little filing.I like the 783 but it’s not a close fit in a 700 stock. Nice work Ggmac!
They are a stout rifle .+1. That's a cool little rifle. I see a 16.5" model in my future running a suppressor!! Cool little truck gun.
