Remington 722 Triple Deuce

One shooting acquaintance swears by N-130 for his 1-14 222.

Yes sir, N-130...that's the one. Thanks for pointing that out. Fantastic powder, don't seem to heat up as quick as some and very accurate. If I had to choose one brand of powder to do all my reloading with it would be VV. N-135 is a little more on the 223 side of things.

OK Guys shot yesterday,,,imr3031,h335,rl-7 and I found a load for imr 4064,,either loadata or Hodgdon site,,cci 400,,3k off lands,,of course wind picked up,,,3 shot groups,,,some were better,,none over 1.75",,7 outta 12 groups had 2 kissn,,ordered neck size die from Midway and just finished bedding

A 700 trigger will fit but the safety strikes the side of the 722 action. either replace the safety of use judicious heat and pliers for a "backyard gunsmith" fix. Some people mill the side of the action??? I prefer to bend a safety as they are easy to replace.
The 700 trigger I have is worked,,im trying to get up the guts to heat and bend safety lever,,its SS,,lol,,if inbreak it how much is a new one??

get it red about 1/4 inch below the safety, tweak with needle nose. Takes two three tries when you are a newbie to backyard BBQ gunsmithing..

I have a 722 in 222 and 3031 shot well in it. I can’t remember load specifics but they were 53 or 52 Sierras ( all I had at the time). I do remember the load wasn’t maximum. There are other better powders than 3031 for both velocity and accuracy really but they weren’t available back then. 4895 is also good, but it borders on being a bit slow in the Deuce.

I know back then I hated ball powders for some reason.

Nothing wrong with IMR4198 either. Just use a new manual. Good velocity. Harder to throw in a measure.
