Remington 721 recoil pad

Did any of the original 721 rifles come from the factory with a rubber recoil pad?

My dad’s had a metal plate with the word “Remington” on it. I have it now, can send a pic if you want one.

The only Rem 721 I remember that had a rubber recoil pad from the factory was the 300 H&H Mag. My first big game rifle a Remington 721 in 30-06 it had a metal (aluminum) butt plate, as did my dad's and brother's...all those Remington 721 06s are history now, like the people who owned them, but they brought home the meat. Never noticed the recoil being a problem when I was a kid, but a box of factory rds lasted several deer seasons, and mine wasn't scoped...used the factory open sights for many years. I could hit a tuna tin at 50 yards with open sights off hand as I did in deer camp to prove to the adults my gun was sighted in and I was ready to hunt...and after passing the state hunter safety classes and obtaining your "juvenile hunter safty card" you could hunt big game at 12, deer, bear, lion, and elk, A lot of good memories with the old Remington 721, like stalking deer in the pouring rain in very thick cover and running into bear at very close range when you're 15, you and your hunting buddy.

Im looking for a 721 chambered in 300 H&H. From what I've seen, the H&H uses rubber while all other calibers use metal.
