For some reason I was assuming it would be their older triggers but I guess not. Looks like only their X-Mark Pro triggers are effected. This has gotta hurt. I wonder what the actual numbers of effected rifles actually is.

My 264 WM Sendero is on their list. Other than the BS about the sky falling the next time I fire it, does anyone know actually what the problem is??

Reason is, I filled out the form and they will send me a new box - I ALWAYS need more shipping boxes, so that is good.

But in the past, Remington has a pattern of sending repair work to small mom&pop gun shops - so you send it to Ilion, NY, and get it back from Ferdie's Ol' Gunshoppe in East Swamp Gas, MO.

I would like to know what the real problem is, cuz I can do it myself.

Mine is subject to the recall. Inasmuch as I replaced the Remington trigger with a Timney as soon as I got the rifle, I'll not be sending my rifle to Remington.

Replacing a factory Remington trigger with a Timney is a giant step...

... backwards!

Put in a Jewell, or have the Remington properly adjusted.

me and a buddy bought 2 rem 243 sps varmint rifles a few months ago. Recrowned them, rechambered to AI, B&C stocks, extreame tac rail, LR Leupolds.
I adjusted 1 factory trigger down to about 3.5 lb. and on mine it stayed at 6lb even with the set screw removed. Ordered 2 timneys and both are @ 1.5lb and groups were cut in half or better to an ave of .400" and the best groups were .142" and .184".
We are very happy with the timneys for what we do with them. We are going to build complete custom guns this summer and will try the jewel

Let's take a serious look at this guys. >:(

1. You bought a rifle (action) with a faulty trigger. Whether it's a dirty trigger or a manufacturing defect, it's a faulty trigger.
a. You send it back and Remington assumes all responsibility for future failures due to manufacturing defects.
b. You "fix" it yourself or simply ignore the recall and you assume all responsibility for future failures, including accidents that might occur with future use by someone you sell the rifle to.

2. Your rifle (action) with the faulty trigger now has a Timney/Jewel trigger; you didn't like the X-Mark Pro. You'll sell or give away the trigger (now or someday) to another shooter who isn't aware of the potential hazard and someone gets hurt.

Before you make some self-righteousness judgement about ignoring the recall entirely or trying to fix a problem that Remington has offered to correct at no charge think the issue through with a rational frame of mind.

My concern is the number of XM triggers that have been exchanged for another make and the guy who has it in a drawer; or the guy who bought it from a shooter that didn't want it anymore and installed it on his "build". He doesn't know if that trigger was originally in a rifle that is on the recall list. Those will never come to the surface.
We want to protect our right to bear arms. Being too cavalier about how we take responsibility for firearms safety is a good way to lose support for that cause.

End of tirade :)
