Remington 700 SPS Stainless, DBM project.

I purchased a Remington 700 SPS Stainless DBM on sale at Cabelas for $579.00. I really just wanted the Barreled action more than anything else. So now I need to pick out a good quality stock, rings, bases and have settled on a Nikon Monarch 3-12x42 Side Focus for optics. I have heard good things about the X-Mark trigger so I may just have it worked over or replace it if not satisfied. This rifle will be my main hunting rifle and long range plinker/predator gun. If you were going to build up a Remington like this what components would you use? Stock? Bases?Rings?Trigger? Rifle is chambered in 308 win. I will be keeping the Detachable box magazine in the project.

I have a VS in .308 and I installed a shilen with a safety for hunting. It is by far a very crisp trigger and modestly priced. Bases are weaver type with burris signature rings with inserts to fit on the weaver (picatanny rail.)Stock wise, find a used hs precision with the aluminum bedding block and skim bed it. This will keep costs down and make a fine shooting rifle.

Id set it up with a HS Percision stock light weight yet with some beef to it, either tune the trigger (which i have two of them tuned to a crisp 2lbs) or change it out for the 1lb jewell, Ken Farrell or EGW base almost the same just one cheaper than the other, And for the rings either or the lupy QRW's are nice as well as the Burris XTR rings are nice too I have three sets of these, you can usually find used for right around 45 dollars. Good luck make sure to post some pictures of the finished rig.
