Remington 700 Sporter Wgt Bbl with 9 Twist From Factory ?

So I have guy that says he has some take off bbls as described in the title. Did Remington every produce such a thing ? I also think he said they are 24" long maybe even 26 [ crs ] not the 20" tactical bbl that is definitely 9 twist.

What say you ?

These days buddy I believe everything!!!! I used to question things, especially when they honestly, seriously just didn't make any sense. That didn't work out too good, so now I just keep on saying "yeah"......
I have never seen one, but again, that don't mean much. I have also never seen a stainless small bolt face 700 with a standard weight barrel either. Every stainless 700 with a 223 size bolt face from the factory had a heavy barrel. That don't mean some guy in some small town don't have 50 of them in a trunk in the attic he will sell.....stranger things have happened.
All that aside, Remington is not particularly noted for their ability to make accurate flawless barrels....I guess I am not sure I wouldn't just buy an aftermarket barrel if I really needed one in that contour and twist. I mean the money difference is not worth the difference in quality.....but, whatever gets you thru the night.....

I have owned a couple of stainless 700 SPS with the floorplate and chambered in 223. So, yes- they are out there but I don't know if they are common or not. With Remington - never, say never, they make a lot of runs of rifles that never show up in their catalog.
I bought the first one from Ski's guns in Idaho Falls, Idaho and the second one from Cabelas in Boise, Idaho so I am guessing that they are not that rare.
