Remington 700 BDL to single shot question

That PT&G one for the short action is profiled nicely. I have one epoxied in a Howa 6br that feeds fine. Nice fit in a M700.

A couple ways to keep that block in. A narrow strip of masking tape along the top edge and down side, one side or both, makes it a push fit. I 've also used a few dabs of crazy glue. Either works fine. With a tight fit or glued, to get it out a wooden dowel and a sharp rap with a hammer will pop the thing right out.
Get a single shot block that's round on the bottom.

There was a member here making some nice SS ones that were contorted to the action and fit the cutout exactly so you could glue them in, I cant remember who it was but I do remember people were really happy with them. Years ago I was in a hurry for a trip shooting rock chucks and made one out of PVC pipe and glued it in, I think its still being used by my buddy that bought that rifle from me.

Zack at Old Dominion Custom Rifles custom fit a follower to fit my Bighorn TL2 making a smooth bottom to the receiver versus gluing it to the bedding.
The first follower I got for a Savage Short Action, I got from SSS. As I needed more, and couldn’t get repeats in a timely manner, I used it to make a plaster mold, and formed 3 out of JB Weld. I made another using Carbon Fiber Cloth and Resin. The original Aluminum one is now JB’ed into a favorite action and contoured round to match the action bottom.

Zack at ODCR is da Man :)

The one I made is simply held in place by the stock keeping it trapped in the area where the magazine would normally fit. You do have to remove the stock to install it, but after the stock is on, there's nowhere for it to go. jd

They are nice but would not work for my 223.

I tried to find a few Davidsons last year to no avail.

A quick search today showed the same, unfortunately.
Same here....still have one extra Sinclair/Davidson. Have also used several of the PT&G's and just milled the bottoms flat.

Stay warm over there. :) -Al

Thank you all that took your time to answer my question, I really do appreciate it.

I went the other direction. I bought a 700 BDL varmint, but somebody had put in a single shot laminated br thumb hole stock with a single shot follower. I bought a OEM stock and bottom metal for it. I still have it if you’re interested.

You'd think with the plethora of 3d printers about, it would be pretty easy to make SS followers.

OK, so this little doodad arrived. It snapped right in where the little POS Rotary magazine goes.
I thought I would give it the “hard-core“ test with empty cartridges and no bullet to guide them. They glide in smoothly with no hang ups.
So I’m gonna give the product a two thumbs up. Jd
Good, I’m glad it turned out okay.
