Just as a heads up, Midwest Gunworks is advertising some Remington M700 actions for sale:

Yup. Stiller’s are just a few hundred more. Some other nice actions are available for just a little more.Used to pay about $350-$400 for a new 700 receiver. I wouldn’t buy one for $600. Those Xmark factory triggers are complete throwaway junk so basically you’re paying $600 for a bare receiver. At that price I’d spend a little more and get an affordable custom action for $900 that doesn’t need all the work to get up to par then put a good BnA or Jewell trigger on it
Yeah and custom actions also hold their value a lot better. Nobody likes to pay anything extra for a 700 no matter how much work has been done to it.Yup. Stiller’s are just a few hundred more. Some other nice actions are available for just a little more.
I hardly ever see any mention of the Mack Evo action on this forum.
My point exactly.Had to look that one up...
How could anyone pay $600 for a stock Remington action when they could get one of those for the same price?
I tried to look at their website but couldn’t. Where are you finding info?Had to look that one up...

That’s a nice piece of steel at that price. Wish they made it in a long action as well."EVO Stainless Steel Action | Mack Brothers Suppressors" https://macbros.com/evo-stainless-steel-action/
Al,I've got a Mack Bros Evo on order.![]()
When I investigated these a few months ago, supposely the latest actions have been modified to accept prefits now. Will do.
They will have a single shot option in early 2022. And though their Web site doesn't list the .378 bolt face, it is available along with the .473 and Magnum bolt faces.
The bolt lugs are about .010 - .015 longer than a standard 700, which is something to consider for those wanting to use a pre fit barrel....that amount needs to be taken off the back of the barrel shank. My understanding is that future bolts will have the shorter lugs...not 100% sure on when/if that's happening.
For what it's worth...
