Remington 600 with rib question

Who are the Remington 600 guru's? I have a Remington 600 with rib here and a replacement metal rib from Heritage Arms. The original plastic rib was retained with two different size screws. One has a head large enough to retain rib, but the other half of them are too small? Somebody put it together with the wrong screws?rem600.jpg

Definitely not a guru at all or have I ever owned one of those cool looking rifles.
but buy looking at it I’d guess that the small screw is a centering screw for alignment and the large screw a hold down screw.

Hey the 4 big screws are fore the rib and the 2 little screws is fore the front sight base. and 2 fore the rear sight if you do not use the sights you will need 3 more large head screws and a small one the the rear sight base.

I love my old 600 but be careful replacement parts are out there but sometimes there high enough to make you go.... Hmmmmm....
