Remington 592 Bolt Handle

I have a Remington 592M 5mm that I have enjoyed shooting for many years. Yesterday, after firing several rounds, the bolt handle fell out. I cannot find any parts for this rifle anywhere. I know they were only made from 1969 to 1974. Any suggestions?
Thanks

It looks like someone has welded it on and the weld failed. Your best bet will likely be to find someone to tig weld it back on for you.
I have had Dan at accu-tig do a couple of 700 bolt handles for me - contact him, likely he can repair it for you.

I had the same thing happen. Originally they àppear to be friction welded. I silver brazed mine back on. That was about 5 yrs ago ,still holding. Be careful anything outside the small counter ore where the handle goes can interest with the bolt closing.

Thanks for that info. I did have someone tig weld it several years ago. Obviously there wasn't enough penetration to make a strong weld. Where is Acu-tig?

Looks like he's in Fairbanks AK. I was stationed for two years with the Army at Ft. Wainwright there in Fairbanks around the time that the 592 was being manufactured.
Small world.....

Everything in the back half of the bolt has to come out so heat doesn't damage it when you braze or weld.
I got in touch with Dan at Accu-Tig in Fairbanks. Very knowledgeable man. I sent the bolt to him and got it back just now. Took maybe 10 days total. He silver brazed it back together. Looks brand new. Cost was $75 plus $10 for shipping it up there.
Let's hope it works! Thanks again for the help.
