I went thru my 511 that my Dad gave me in 1964, it had been at home in my brothers safe and it needed to be stripped and re blued and refinished. It had a broken butt pate and a piece of the wood stock was missing. I use to shoot it and had a blast doing so, I found a box of Coast to Coast shells that had a price tag of 43 cents per box. I re cold blued all the steel parts. I will NEVER EVER brake down the action on a 511 again. 4 hours to get it back together. still shaking my head. I mounted some Burris rings, high, and a Nickon 3x9 that I had on the shelf and it clears by a thick piece of paper, about 1/32", got lucky I guess. Going to shoot it today at 25 yards and then give it to my Grandson when my daughter thinks her boy can operate a rifle safely. I can't wait
by the way I have a long wait, he is 16 months old
