Remington 40X Rimfire Trigger Replacement

I would like to upgrade the factory trigger in my 40X. Now that Jewell isn't an option what would be a good second choice for a trigger in the 4 to 6 oz range?

Do you need a Jewel bench rest trigger or one with a safety? Right hand or Left hand action?

I have a couple Shilen BR triggers and like them.

If I could get a Jewell BR trigger I could remove the Jewell BR 700 with bolt release from another rifle and use that. A safety is not necessary. I will look into Shilen BR triggers also.

Looking at a Rifle Basics ERV 3K, adjustable from 4 to 20 oz. I am seeing chatter on the internet that Rifle Basics triggers sometimes lose their adjustment. Any truth to that? Any Recomendations?

Just installed the RXERV3K Rifle Basix on my Remington 40X. I did not measure the trigger pull but it was difinitely on the lower side of 4 to 20 ounces. I will follow up with how it works out.

Went to the range to try some offhand shooting using my .22 LR Remington 40X with a just installed RXERV3K Rifle Basix trigger. The factory set trigger pull measured 7.7 ounces. That amount of trigger pull seemed good to me for this rifles intended use so I made no adjustments.

Like I wrote earlier this was offhand shooting, I shot 50 rounds with no problems. So far this trigger seems to be what I was looking for. Time will tell. I will try shooting a 50/50 card soon and post the results. I have two Turbos for 50/50 shooting so I don't expect any exceptional results with the 40X, just would like to shoot a respectable card.

I shot a couple of 50/50 cards today with the Remington 40X and the Rifle Basix trigger. No big deal, decent conditions with a light variable wind and some decent ammo for this rifle. The scores were nothing exceptional, low 240's. The rifle is a basic 40X with the factory stock and no tuner, just the RifleBasix trigger.
The trigger is not a Jewell, but, that was not what I was looking for. Since I shoot this rifle offhand a lot I needed a trigger with more than a few ounces of pull, so for benchrest it is a compromise and much better than the original trigger. No issues with this RifleBasix trigger, the pull remains at just under 8 ounces.
