Remington 260

Silverback I have a Rem. model 7, 260 and I love it when I can get it away from my 18 year old son.

We bought several boxes of 100 gr. Nosler Partitions when you could still find them. We use them for Texas whitetails and hogs. 120 gr Ballistic Tips are also good.

This is a wonderful little rifle virtually no recoil and super easy to load for.

I hunted with a new Sako .260 this year and it impressed me enough to not want to go back to the 30-06. I wanted something I could shoot accurately, had good ballistics and wouldn't do too much damage on deer. It fulfilled all of my needs thus far.

I love reading this stuff. It makes me feel like I really made a great choice. I was really tossing it around with a few other rounds but the 260 is waht I stuck with. Anybody shoot the 85gr. Sierra varminter? I just bought a box the other day. I couldn't pass up the price.

If I had one bad thing to say about it for hunting, it would be that I'm anal about policing my brass after taking a shot. Being that Remington .260 brass is hard to find at times, I like to account for all of my brass.

To add to that, I don't like mixing headstamps of other brass and necking it up/down to fit in my .260.

Hi. I've used a 260 Rem SS Model 7KS w/2x7 Leupold for 8 years. Its my "go to" gun more often than not, even with 2 dozen other long guns to choose from. With the choice of available bullets, its good for everything from prairie dogs to bears and the bigger deer using the high BC longer bullets.
