Remage barrel

Thinking of rebarreling a rem 700 myself and going the barrel nut route.
I have done several savages with good results.
My main concern is the stock, as in how much is involved to make the nut fit in a factory wood stock?
Do they make aftermarket stocks for the rem700 with remage barrels?

I think some/many of the chassis stocks accept nutted barrels.

I have a KRG Bravo chassis on my Rem 700. I put a nutted .223 barrel from Urbanrifleman on it this past summer and it fit just fine with plenty of room for the barrel nut. No mods were needed and it shoots just fine, once I got my head out of my ass and set the headspace correctly......

I kept my head up my butt pretty much till I was 40 or so. I'd pull it out every now and then for special occasions or pictures and such.
Relieving a stock to accept a nut is the kind of careful work we all should learn.. A lot of stocks these days barely need it. The tight bedded barrel look is pretty much over. jd

Most chassis today need no mods at all. Stocks usually aren't as wallered out. . The Revolution requires a tiny funnel shape to be cut right at the nut. It has a 1.25 inch channel. The MPA COMP chassis is 1.35 and needs no mods at all.

This is a Graboe stock, but if your stock inlet steps down in diameter from the end of the action/recoil lug to the barrel channel at all, you will have to open it up to action diameter at the most.

This is the Magpul stock. I think it makes an excellent walking around stock. I don't think it needs any inletting for the nut. It also has a full length aluminum chassis inside the molding.
