REM700 Mag Length

What is the standard magazine length of a Remington 700 short action ? I believe it's 2.840 for the 243/7mm08/308, but not sure what it is for the 222/223 size cartridges ? Ben

Your about right on the 308 length.

My .223 LTR looks to be about 2.350"

I'm referring to the length of the magazine with the blocks in place for the 222 and 223 ???? I'm trying to find out the maximum overall cartridge length which would fit into the magazine ??? Ben

Yeah that's what i figured. I measured my Remington LTR .223 magazine with the block in place and it measured 2.350" so to COMFORTABLY fit loaded rounds probably need to be 2.325" or shorter. Most AR15 mags restrict OAL to 2.260"

The FOLLOWER measures 2.320" long.

You can remove the spacer and make a new one out of aluminum to increase your OAL if needed.
