Rem vtr

NOT A FAN OF THE VTR BUT I SURE LIKE MY LITTLE 223 SPS CRITTERS NIGHTMARE !!!!!!!!!!!JUST DON'T LIKE ITS LOOKS !

My daughters boyfriend had one in .308 and it was a true hammer with anything you fed it. I have read many threads about the other versions in .223 and .243 with quite similar results. I wish I had one.

Edit: He sold it and the guy who bought it wont sell it back for any reason. He is kicking himself because he is really not very smart.

I have one in .223. Have had it for about 5 years. Shoots 69 grainers like crazy with V-140. Had less accuracy with 55's but still about an inch at 100 yds. I put it in a Hogue stock because the factory stock has a couple of little raised tags at the end which prevented the barrel from floating. Made all the difference!! Good luck with it. Don't know how long they will continue to make it because some don't know to change the stock and if you don't they shoot crappy.

Two minutes with a half round file and those " buttons" are gone. Sand off any other high spots and you're good to go.

I have one buddy who had one in 223 and was not happy with accuracy. Maybe he had stock issues as mentioned above, but don't know for sure as he sold it. Unusual that a 700 won't shoot, so he blamed it on the funny 3 sided barrel.

Too bad could have been a great little shooter. Lots of people are thrown off by the triangular barrel. And...a built in muzzle break.

I worked up loads for the neighbor in 223 and 308, he put Boyd's laminates on both of them and bedded them. Gosh, these guns are UNREAL accurate! I seated the bullets to touch the lands in the 223, can't remember in the 308. It took very few rounds to get super accuracy in both.

Boyd's laminates are great and so would the Hogue with the full bedding block. Triangle barrels are very, very stiff.
